
OLIVIER COTTE
Olivier Cotte is a screenwriter, author, script doctor, animation historian, illustrator, director, and translator.
He works as a screenwriter (for comics, TV series, etc.), novelist, playwright, and script doctor. He has written four books on screenwriting—including Fiction(s)—and has translated most of Robert McKee’s works. He is also an animation historian with over ten published books to his name.
Olivier Cotte has authored several books on animated film, notably a global encyclopedia (100 ans de cinéma d’animation), a comprehensive guide to animation techniques (Le grand livre des techniques du cinéma d’animation), monographs (on Walt Disney, Georges Schwizgebel, David Ehrlich, etc.), and a book of interviews focusing on thirteen Oscar-winning animated short films—translated into five languages (Secrets of Oscar-winning Animation: Behind the scenes of 13 classic short animations)—along with other technical and historical works.
